Re-Opening of St Raphael Resort with thorough Covid-19 Prevention Measures

Our aim is to offer the well-known high quality services and at the same time to secure the safety and health of our valued guests and team members in all areas of operation. These procedures will see new ways of working in all departments including Reception, Housekeeping, Restaurants, Bars, Kitchens, Maintenance, Staff areas, Fitness areas, Swimming pools and other areas of operation.

The new measures aim to cover a wide range of hotel operations and we have paid close attention to the World Health Organisation recommendations as well as the European and National legal requirements considering the COVID-19 preventative measures and includes an emergency plan in case of a suspected or confirmed case.

It is important we update you on the actions and measures we have taken in response to the outbreak to ensure your safety and protection during your stay with us

Reception, Lobby, Public Areas & Offices

  • All hotel areas are provided with alcohol wall dispensers
  • All hotel public/staff areas furniture are re-arranged in compliance to social distancing
  • Social distancing is ensured and easily guided throughout the hotel premises including transparent plexiglass partition at reception desk and lift capacity restrictions.
  • Informative health signage and guidance is provided in all areas of hotel
  • All hotel staff, suppliers and walk-in’s, are all daily taken their temperature via thermal cameras at entrances. Anyone with a temperature above 37.2 will not be allowed to enter hotel premises and be sent to medical authorities. 
  • All staff are mandatory wearing protective masks and gloves at all times
  • All staff are highly trained to see symptoms of a person with a possible Covid-19 case and respond promptly accordingly to safeguard the person and all others around him/her.
  • All staff are fully trained for all protective measures, continuously evolving and adapting to all present and updated guidelines of the World Health Organization and of local and European regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

 

Housekeeping

  • All staff are all daily taken their temperature via thermal cameras at entrances. Anyone with a temperature above 37.2 will not be permitted to enter hotel premises and be sent to medical authorities.
  • All staff are fully trained for all protective and cleaning measures, continuously evolving and adapting to all present and updated guidelines of the World Health Organization and of local and European regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • All hotel premises have installed wall mounted hand sanitizers together with health informative signage and foot pedaled waste bins.
  • All staff entering rooms will be mandatory wearing all breathing and hand protection equipment whilst cleaning suits to highly satisfy protocols of Local and European Regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Rooms are thoroughly and frequently disinfected with extremely strict hygiene policies & protocols, and rigorously inspected
  • All hotel public and sanitary areas are comprehensively cleaned and disinfected frequently, exceeding all parameters of local and European Regulations.
  • All linen is washed on a 90 degree hot-cycle with all relevant detergents and bleach agents.
  • All curtains, drapes, screens, lampshades, carpets and furniture items are cleaned disinfected by steam apparatus prior guest arrival
  • All suit linen (sheets quilt covers, blankets etc) are replaced after departure of every guest.
  • Rooms are fully naturally ventilated 


Maintenance

  • All staff are all daily taken their temperature via thermal cameras at entrances. Anyone with a temperature above 37.2 will not be permitted to enter hotel premises and be sent to medical authorities.
  • All staff are fully trained for all protective and maintenance measures, continuously evolving and adapting to all present and updated guidelines of the World Health Organization and of local and European regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • All hotel premises have installed wall mounted hand sanitizers together with health informative signage and foot pedaled waste bins.
  • All technician staff are mandatory wearing protective masks and gloves.
  • All air conditioning systems are regularly inspected, cleaned and disinfected to exterminate and avoid any microbial growth, and all filters have been changed.
  • The application of a strict legionalle prevention system has been done to clean water tanks and all piping systems and daily water treatments.
  • Frequent legionella tests are made to all Suites, Jacuzzi’s Sauna’s and Pools.


Spa/ Pool Areas

  • All staff are all daily taken their temperature via thermal cameras at entrances. Anyone with a temperature above 37.2 will not be permitted to enter hotel premises and be sent to medical authorities.
  • All staff are fully trained for all protective measures, continuously evolving and adapting to all present and updated guidelines of the World Health Organization and of local and European regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • All hotel premises have installed wall mounted hand sanitizers together with health informative signage and foot pedaled waste bins.
  • Entrance to Spa facilities is via appointment. All entering will be checked for high temperature. Anyone with 37.2 and above will not be permitted to enter the spa.
  • All staff and therapists mandatory wear masks and gloves. 
  • Treatment  beds and equipment are frequently disinfected and  equipped  with  a  single  use  paper  for  every treatment.
  • All spa areas are frequently and intensely cleaned and disinfected suits to highly satisfy protocols of Local and European Regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • All provided beach/pool towels have been hot cycled washed to 90degrees. 
  • All sun-beds are placed to meet social distancing requirements and are disinfected after every guests use.
  • Non touch cash transactions are preferred.
  • Daily surveillance strengthening of  pool water quality.


Kitchens, Restaurants & Bars

  • All staff are all daily taken their temperature via thermal cameras at entrances. Anyone with a temperature above 37.2 will not be permitted to enter hotel premises and be sent to medical authorities.
  • All staff are fully trained for all protective measures, continuously evolving and adapting to all present and updated guidelines of the World Health Organization and of local and European regulations, regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • All hotel premises have installed wall mounted hand sanitizers together with health informative signage and foot pedaled waste bins.
  • All staff mandatory wearing masks and gloves and other protective face shields whilst cleaning cooking and catering foods and drinks. 
  • All entering restaurants and bars will be randomly taken their temperature and anyone of 37.2 degrees and above will not be permitted to enter. 
  • Entrance to dining areas is controlled via trained hostess maintaining social distancing; informative health and dining regulations are placed in waiting area. 
  • The maximum number of staff indoors is 1 person per 3 square meters.
  • The maximum number of guests per table is 10.
  • Dining tables & chairs are disinfected thoroughly & tablecloths are changed with new clean disinfected ones after guest departure from table & prior new guests allowed to sit 
  • Queuing to buffet is managed and monitored by a trained hostess, controlling social distancing with guests mandatory use of masks and gloves at buffet stations.
  • Trained caterers are equipped with all the appropriate personal protective equipment and observing strict hygiene rules at all times
  • Employees serving guests are instructed to limit conversation with guests
  • Dining areas are naturally ventilated at all times 

 

Suppliers and Sub-Contractors

  • All suppliers/sub-contractors have a designated entrance, under no circumstance will they have access to hotel facilities other than the unloading area, wearing all personal protective equipment.
  • Everybody’s temperature is taken via thermal cameras and nobody will be allowed to enter above 37.2 degrees. 
  • All must follow safe systems of work and follow all necessary safe procedures for prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and are briefed of our own procedures, that they must comply with.
  • Drivers & Assistants  remain  in their lorry/car until notified to begin unloading/loading, applying all  measures  taken to stop suppliers from congregating 
  • A box to be placed outside purchasing office for the suppliers to place the invoices and stay there for 12 hours, before taken by purchasing office.
  • A log is kept by purchasing officer of all persons entering our premises, to facilitate tracking / traceability in the event of a COVID-19 case

 

Contingency Plan for Possible Guest or member of Staff with Covid-19 Symptoms  

  • As health and safety of our staff and guests is always our highest priority, An action plan has been designed and staff has been trained how to handle such a case in order to assure the well-being of the possible infected guest or staff member, and for the prevention of the spreading of virus, keeping the safety of all unaffected guests and staff.
  • The possible infected person will be guided immediately to a designated response room and local health authorities will be informed to come and handle the case.
  • His/her regular and response room or workplace will be disinfected fully and his/her mates or colleagues will be tested.
     

 

Flexibility on your travel plans

St Raphael Resort has applied modifications on the cancellation policy for existing and new reservations in order not to affect your holidays for year 2020.

Existing Reservations: All reservations including the ones with ‘Non-Refundable’ policy that were booked until April 30th, 2020, for any future arrival date can be changed up to 48 hours before the scheduled arrival.

For amending your reservation, a credit note will be issued equal to the value of the reservation for future use within 1.5 year from the date of cancellation. Please note that rates for future dates may differ in such an extra payment may be required. 

New Reservations: For all new reservations made from 1st April 2020 and onwards, we have reduced the Free Cancellation rates by additional 10%, combined with any additional offer. The full amount of the reservation will be paid upon arrival at the hotel. The new amended policy applies for all stays during the year 2020. You still have the option to cancel 3 days before the check in date free of charge, regardless of your stay period.

Modify your reservations: You can change your reservation at the St Raphael Resort without any penalty fee as long as you notify the hotel 3 days prior to the check in date. Change of duration period or dates of your reservation may result in a rate change according to the new period you wish to travel.
